Here are some photos of the work in progress:

I painted the cabinets block by block - top left was first. Here is the cabinet block, doors removed, with primer applied. I had already cleaned the tops of the cabinets, and re-placed my decorative plants, so instead of moving them again I wrapped them in old towels to catch saw dust and paint splatters. |
|
I just had to take a picture of my drawers, which were completed first in the bottom section of cabinetry, against the backdrop of the old cabinet color. As the kitchen was being painted we still needed to use it, so bit by bit it came together, rather than all at once, as drawers and doors were replaced - it was so fun to watch the room come to life. |

Getting deeper into the project now. I painted the breakfast bar. |
|
Getting this side ready to go - the microwave is covered and the doors are removed. Next up was to remove the wall shelf and the large chest of drawers. See my little sander? The BEST tool for the job. This tool, at $30.00 was a pretty big chunk of my budget, but worth every single cent! (in trying to save money I started out doing the entire project by hand - that only lasted for two doors before I gave in and headed to the hardware store.) |
