An Organized Home

A walk in coat closet

A walk in coat closet, one my family acutally uses.  We are so fortunate to have a large laundry room, but as you can see from the before picture, it was not used correctly.  We added some wire shelves, some plastic bins (garage sale find!) and some hanging shoe racks - ta-da!  a walk in closet done in a weekend.  I did re-paint the entire room in a nice bright semi-gloss white to give more light, but no other major changes other than hanging the shelves were made.  The best part of this closet is that we can now see everything that we have, and I no longer have to store off season outerware in the basement - there is plenty of room for it to hang there all year.  (and then I can keep tabs on who needs what for next winter during the summer garage sale season.)
Before.  This was used only for laundry, the freezer, and a litter box.  Moving the litter box out and giving the room a good clean (I even scrubbed the ceiling) and repaint did wonders for our entire house.

MIO Storage

A magentic locker organizer attached to the side of the fridge keeps MIO within easy reach and off of the counter top.
